Hey everyone,
Today we wanted to share with you our go to boots for the Winter season, seeing as the UK has been getting colder and colder by the second! Feel free to share your favourite boots/shoes for this season in the comments below!

ELENA: TOPSHOP FLAT BOOTS (£20) - I had been searching endlessly for a more practical alternative to my heeled Asos boots which I adore however since I do alot of walking I was looking for a sturdy boot I wouldn't go skating in when its icy! These have the perfect solid grip and I'm convinced for some reason they make me walk faster! The inside is lined with lush fur so its asif i have slippers on my feet all day, if I'm completely honest I was buying for comfort more than look so was abit unsure on them at first but i have to admit they have grown on me massively. I'm a sucker for a bargain price, if i see a sale i can't walk on and I don't regret rooting through outfit for these, their original price was £45 so I was expecting fab quality and they have defiantly delivered!

LILY: ASOS CHELSEA BOOTS (£55) - I have had a huge love affair with Chelsea Boots ever since I saw Alexa Chung (who is easily one of my main style inspirations) sporting them with a pair of black jeans and an oversized jumper. I think they looks so effortlessly chic, while being very versatile as they can be paired with any outfit. The main attraction for me is that they look great with jeans, yet still pair nicely with a skirt or a dress, without looking too mis-matched. In comparison to shops on the high street, these shoes were a steal for only £55, as I've seen them being sold for almost double that price elsewhere. I've found that these Asos ones are extremely comfortable to walk in and so far have been quite durable. I would definitely recommend these if you're in the market for a new pair of boots, especially for the winter season!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00617841089490030587noreply@blogger.com20tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1280662350525973245.post-65073642352368568152015-01-03T14:08:00.000-08:002015-01-04T09:43:21.705-08:00Our Favourite Nail Varnish Picks for Winter

Hey everyone,
today we wanted to share with your our favourite nail varnishes for the wintery season! We've been loving these for months now, and decided it was about time we share them with you!
LILY:
1) Gelly Hi-Shine in Chai- This is one of those nail varnish shades that once you've worn once, you can't stop using! I've been absolutely obsessed with wearing it, especially as it goes with the majority of my outfits, as it isn't too bold or brightly coloured, and so doesn't clash with whatever colours I'm wearing. As you can see from the picture (on the right side), I sometimes like to do a glitter accent nail to make it more exciting, but in all honesty, it looks just as good on its own! As this is a Gelly Hi-Shine Barry M, it looks very shellac-esque, which is always a bonus considering these are only £3.99 each!
2) Gelly Hi-Shine in Mustard- Mustard shades have been really in for A/W 2014, and I can definitely see why! The reason I love it, is that it isn't too bright, so I don't feel like I'm trying to wear very summery nail varnish in the winter months, yet it means that I'm not constantly wearing dark nail varnishes like black, which I also seem to be sporting a lot this season! It is Gelly Hi-Shine like my other favourite, so comes with all of the benefits I talked about, yet its still so cheap.

ELENA:
1) Essie in Skirting the issue - Essie is known for being a topnotch nail varnish brand and I'd say it 100% deserves the title! I received this one as a Christmas gift last year and as a timeless classic it is out again, deep red shades are definitely a favourite of mine they are something you can't go wrong with. I believe the essie brand although more expensive than others on the market retailing at £7.99 are well worth it, they manage days without chipping and the large bootle supplies your moneys worth.
2) Essie in Perfect parka - Judging by Lils first pick, grey is the must have nail varnish of this years winter and since being in sixth form I haven't had it off! It is the perfect simple tone to match hand in hand with my monochrome winter wardrobe. Two coats create a gorgeous patent leather shine, it has tiny specs of silver spread through it with adds to the overall shine. Once again its an essie product - surprise surprise, so theres no doubting its amazing quality.
Zara have officially out done themselves, again.
I have always been completely in love with everything Zara sells, but their handbags are a whole different ball game. Buying one has been on the cards for a while now, but I've always been overwhelmed by the amount of bags there is to chose from. However, I decided to go for it and buy the 'Mini City Bag' - in Orange.
Originally I wanted to buy it in black, but I already have a black bag for school, and orange seemed like a good way to add a little colour to my monochrome dominated wardrobe.
It was £39.99, which I think is really reasonable, especially when you compare it to other shops on the high street! It is a really sturdy quality, and so far has been surprisingly hard wearing (It faced Primark at Christmas time, therefore it is basically indestructible)
I've found that it fits everything I need in it, despite bordering on a small bag and so isn't annoying to carry round shopping all day, as it isn't too big!
I think overall it is an amazing bag, and I especially love the vibrant colour!
It's Novemberrrrr (getting close to Christmas!!)
We have been dying to show you our current favourite lip products for the wintery season.
ELENA- Mac Lip Liner in 'Boldly Bare'- I recently bought this lip liner after looking for one for ages, which is a subtle shade, so very versatile. This liner definitely does the trick! I love Mac lip liners and think they are AMAZING value at only £12.50 and tend to be quite long lasting.
Soap and Glory Extreme Plump gloss in 'Pink Out Loud' - I've had this product for nearly a year now, and still have loads left, despite numerous uses as a little goes a long way. Personally, I love how it makes your lips tingle and that there is a noticeable difference between my lips before and after use. I really love this shade and how it is super shiny, yet not sticky. It costs £10, which is really good considering how long it has lasted me.
LILY- Gelly Hi Shine Lips in 'Vega'- Normally, nudes and pinks are my go to lip colours, however recently I've been trying to branch out by experimenting with darker lips. I would say that this was red with pink undertones, which isn't too far out of my comfort zone as it still has a pink aspect to it. This costs £4.99 which is incredibly cheap considering it's so long lasting, and is really opaque on the lips.
No 7 BB Lips in 'Belle Pink' - This was somewhat a spontaneous buy, as I have never thought to look in No 7 for a lip gloss. This is a very subtle pink, which is really effortless and so you can just throw it on whenever. It is really moisturising, and non sticky which is what I look for in a lip gloss. It costs £9 which I think is really reasonable as it is such a good quality, and non sticky which is so important for me!
Since starting sixth form in September, I had been searching for a high and low for a lightweight smart coat for the autumn season. I came across this one in River Island for £42, which although seems quite pricey at first, it actually turned out to be considerably cheaper than other shops on the high street, for the same style coat.
From a distance, it looks like a plain grey long coat, however close up you can see it has gold thread weaved through the material, giving it a light sheen when the sun hits it. This adds an extra dimension to the coat, making it more exciting than a plain grey coat.
However, although its thinness is great for indoors (school etc) its not so good for the cold weather, which means i'll need to also invest in a winter coat in a few months time.

We love to decorate our rooms, with beautiful things such as many cacti, fairy lights and orchids.
We hate being inside a room that is plain and boring, our recent craving is for cacti, which are very simple, but can still easily spice up a boring room. Be sure to get a cute pot for them, which you can co-ordinate with the colour of your room!
We also absolutely love fairy lights, especially now as its coming up to the winter season, and the nights are getting darker. They look amazing and christmassy hung up on a wall, or draped along a windowsill.
Finally, orchids are our new passion. We've been searching relentlessly for a flower that has a long life span, while still looking really beautiful. Orchids are perfect for this, they have a life span of approx. 28 days, however we have heard they can last years if given the correct treatment.
We hope this is useful for anyone aspiring to glam up a room.
Today I wanted to share with you my top 3 perfume picks!
DOT BY MARC JACOBS - You can definitely tell this perfume is by Marc Jacobs by it's gorgeous bottle, and it's scent also meets high expectations. I would describe it to be quite fruity and light with high lasting power as I find it always lasts until the end of the night! However it's price as guessed is high - around £50 for 50ml but worth splashing out on for a treat or a Christmas present. LITTLE BLACK DRESS BY AVON - This is my all time favourite day to day fragrance! It's is so wearable and isn't too overpowering for daily use. Avon described it as "a timeless classic of sparkling honeysuckle gardenia jasmine sandalwood and cashmere musk". It is really cheap so a good alternative at only £13 for 30mlSWAROVSKI MARRIAGE LIGHT EAU DE TOILETTE SPARY - I adore this perfume for it's unique scent, for both day time outings and night times. The elegant bottle matches it's glamorous smell. It's a true feminine perfume but has a hefty price tag of around £50 for 50ml but worth the spendings for it's capability to last hours.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00617841089490030587noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1280662350525973245.post-56316315306074483092014-10-05T03:58:00.001-07:002014-10-05T03:58:40.611-07:00Maybelline Colorsensational Elixir gloss

Hey everyone,
being the lipstick junkie that I am, I've been desperate to try out the 'Maybelline Colorsensational Elixirs' since they were first launched in America. Now that they have finally landed in the UK, I was able to pick up two from the collection.
I've found that these are really shiny on the lips, but aren't sticky at all, which is a must for me when I'm buying a lipgloss. The colour pay off is really impressive, and I've found that they last quite a while before I need to top up. The packaging closely resembles the Dior 'Addict Fluid Stick', which I've been completely obsessed with looking at ever since they were released. The sponge applicator isn't like your typical doe foot applicator, as it is shaped in a way that makes it so much easier to apply it evenly on the lips.

'Madnarine Rupture'

Firstly, I picked up 'Raspberry Rhapsody' which was definitely a 'love at first swatch' moment. It is a berry pink colour, which isn't too bold, but neither is it too safe. It is a really good shade to ease your way into bold lips if you don't want to commit to a full on lipstick. The colour is very autumnal, so is absolutely perfect for this time of year.
The second one I picked up was 'Madnarine Rupture', which in the tube looks like a true orange, however on the lips it appears to have a slight pinky undertone, which you can see from the picture. Although orange lipsticks are normally tied to the summer months, I think they can look great all year round, especially this one as it isn't overly bright and is quite understated.
If you haven't tried these already, you definitely should, they get a big yes from me!
Hey everyone,
today we decided to show you what our favourite shoes were for summer.
Lily - Ju Ju Black Jellies
Jelly shoes are like marmite, you either love them or hate them. In my case, I absolutely love them. They are surprisingly comfortable, and because I got them in black they go with pretty much every outfit. They are £20 for the flat ones, which is really affordable especially for such good quality shoes. You can wear them all year round, as they look great with jeans and tights, so they are perfect for the transition between Summer and Autumn.

Elena - Topshop T-Bar Shoes

This Summer I wanted to go for really bright coloured shoes, and these are about as bright as you can get! However, although I loved their summery look, I have found that they only work with either denim jeans or denim shorts. I have found that they are really comfortable, except if you wear them for long periods of time as they can rub a little. They are medium priced at £34 which I think it reasonable for their hard wearing quality.

Lots of love,

Hey everyone,
sorry for not posting in a while, we've been super busy with exams and starting Sixth Form. Even though Summer has ended now, we wanted to share with your our favourite sunglasses of the season.
1. Ray Bans - These are some vintage Ray Bans. Although you can find dupes of these for a fraction of the price tag, personally I think it is definitely worth spending the money on a real pair because they last for years and protect your eyes from the suns glare.
2. Topshop - When I first bought these I was quite surprised at how big they were, however I have actually grown to love them. I love how dark the lenses are, especially for when I'm sunbathing on the beach as they block out the sun.
3. Primark - These are a copy of the classic Ray Bans, however for much cheaper. I've seen so many people wearing these over Summer, but I don't blame them as they are so lightweight and go with every look.
4. Primark - Throughout Summer, these were the sunglasses I reached for most. I really love their tortoise shell frames and that the lenses gradually fade from dark brown to a softer light brown, which I love because it separates them from all my black sunglasses.
Lots of Love,
Hi everyone,
Since spring has officially arrived we decided to do a post on our ultimate fave spring nail varnishes.

Lilys Favourites
'BUBBLEGUM-MODELS OWN-£5:
This is a bright neon pink, which is completely opaque in two coats and due to its amazing formula, doesn't streak on the nails.
'FRUIT MACHINE'-BUTTER LONDON-£12:I love how it is quite a light shade, however it is still just as bright and colourful on the nails. Definitely don't get put off my the price, they're such good quality and don't chip easily.
'HUCKLEBERRY'-BARRY M-£3.99:
Huckleberry is an icy toned light blue, which I already know will be my most used polish in spring/summer. They don't streak and stay put for a fair amount of time!

Elenas Favourites
'MARSHMALLOW'-BARRY M-£3.99:
This is an amazing top coat containing tiny rectangular confetti like specks. I find it perfect to go on top of pink, but really you can wear it with any colour as the speckles are white.
'WATERMELON'-ESSIE-£8:
To be honest, I think this is more of a summery shade but I could not wait to wear it. It is true to its name and is top quality and although not the cheapest nail varnish it is definitely worth it.
'BLUE MOON'-BARRY M- £3.99:
Blue Moon is a classic spring shade and when held to the light it subtly shimmers. Two coats is needed to make it completely opaque and it is really long lasting.

There is a few ideas so you can get stocked up on spring shades. Any got any favourites for us to add to our collections?
lots of love,
Lets talk: Hair Care
For a while now I've been jumping between different conditioners from loads of different brands, and I haven't really been seeing a huge difference in my hair. Long gone were the days when the ends of my hair where soft and split end free, until I found this.
'Happy Hair Days' is a brand I've personally never heard of, or used, as I normally opt for the brands I'm used to. However buying this was definitely taking a step in the right direction!
My hair was super dry at the ends and definitely in need of a little TLC so I decided to give this a go, mainly due to its bold claim of being able to 'restore dry, damaged hair'.
When my hair had dried after using it in the shower, it was noticeably more silky and alot less dry. After using it for a couple of weeks I can definitely say my hair is a lot more healthy and soft.
It has an incredible scent of coconuts which I love, that actually lasts in your hair after you've dried it. This is definitely an added bonus, because for some reason, shampoo/conditioner scents never cling to my hair.
The conditioner contains argan oil, which is probably what makes it such a miracle worker. Argan Oil helps hydrate and adds shine to your hair, and as it contains lots of anti-oxidants, it will also help strengthen your hair.
You can buy then for £3.99, which is around the same price as your average high street conditioner, so there really shouldn't be anything stopping you for trying it out!
lots of love,
Hi everyone,
today we are going to be talking about our Urban Decay Naked palettes. We both opt for a neutral eye look over a more bright and colourful one, which is why the Naked Palettes are perfect for us. Do you have a naked palette?

Left to right: Venus, Foxy, W.O.S, Naked 2, Faint, Crave

LILY: NAKED BASICS PALETTE £22
What I love about my naked palette is that all six colours are perfect for a simple nude eye look, and that they are very wearable on an everyday basis.
The majority of them are matte, except for venus which is very shimmery and also Foxy, which I find is more velvety than the other four which are definitely true mattes.
At the minute, the eye look i've been loving wearing is w.o.s(walk of shame) all over my lid, and then blending Naked 2 into my crease. If i'm feeling brave I may blend a little bit of Faint into the outer v section of my crease. I then like to use Venus as a highlight for my brow bone and inner corner.
I have yet to master the art of using eye shadow as an eyeliner, so crave hasn't been used as frequently as the others, nor has foxy, mainly because it is very similar to w.o.s, and for me, foxy doesn't show up as well, but I still like to use it occasionally.
I love the formula of these shadows, they are very soft and velvety on the lid, which makes them really easy to apply. I also have to talk about the packaging, its very small and compact, so can easily be popped into your handbag without taking up too much room and is also great for travelling. Although the packaging is very simple, I love how sleek it looks. Definitely a must have for every makeup bag!

ELENA: NAKED 2 PALETTE £37
If your someone who likes shimmery eyeshadows, then the Naked 2 palette is perfect for you, as the majority of the palette are shimmery, however there are a few matte shadows to contrast.
Recently, I have been addicted to using Foxy as a base on my lid, and then adding either Snake Bite or Busted lightly through the crease. For an evening occasion I would also add Half Baked of YDK for a more glam look. I also like to use Booty Call as a highlighter for the brow bone and inner corner.
For a more natural look, I find Verve is ideal, as it is a lot more toned down than the others. The Naked 2 palette also comes with a good quality brush and a really good sized mirror, so you can apply it anywhere. The brush has two ends, one for application and the other for blending. I find the brush is really soft, so applies the shadows evenly. The Naked 2 palette is a bargain that cannot be missed!
Firstly I'd like to apologise in advance to any brunettes! However Andrew Barton does offer a 'Strictly brunette' range which I am sure is of the same amazing quality!
I first came across the Andrew Baton blondes have more fun serious repair mask when I went out shopping in search of hair remedies and so far I have only used it a couple of times but have already found it really effective!
I'd like to think I have medium length hair but it constantly seems to be retreating shorter every time I look in the mirror, it has a slight wave and even though I am naturally blonde I do occasionally get highlights. However I have noticed my hair is in quite poor condition for reasons I can't figure out as I try to stay clear of heat appliances and even blow drying it. - So finding this was a dream it immediately made my hair soft and silky without feeling sticky/greasy like other specialist hair products do. It made a complete transformation from my usual straw like hair and I even got compliments the next day on the brightness and smooth shine it left.
So you can imagine the surprise when I discovered its prices is only £1 - I think I'll be buying bulk and stocking up for summer!
Thank you for reading, I am always in search of hair repairal products so if anyone has a particular favourite let in know in comments!
Are you a lipstick fan or a lipgloss fan?
Ask me that question this time last year and I would have answered lipstick with no hesitation. However I have definitely been converting to a bit of a lipgloss junkie lately.
The Revlon Super Lustrous lip glosses are really the only lip glosses I like (excluding my much loved Barry M 'toffee' lip gloss). I've always been a lipstick supporter because I hate the prospect of having sticky lips. However Revlon definitely know what they're doing because these lip glosses are completely glossy and smooth, while avoiding the feeling of stickiness on the lips.
I own two from the collection, 'Kiss Me Coral' and 'Pink Pop'. Today I am going to be talking about 'Pink Pop' because I think it is the perfect spring/summer shade. As the name suggests, it leaves a pop of colour on the lips, that is in the perfect mix between pigmented and sheer. It isn't as bright as it looks in the tube, which means it is very wearable on an everyday basis.
They can be bought for £6.99 which is very inexpensive so its definitely worth it.
